The 2007 Weekly Calendar Printable Is Here
Posted: 2006-12-27
For those of you who have been patiently waiting, the 2007 weekly calendar with all the dates filled in is finished. You can get it at http://www.kristensguide.com/Printables/index.asp
There's a catch though. I know I'm popular for having lots of free printables, but some projects take quite a bit of time to do, and this calendar was one of them, so this printable will cost you $2.00. You can still get blank printables for free, and fill in all the dates yourself, but buying the pre-dated version will save you lots of time.
I plan to have more versions of calendars with all the dates filled in available as soon as possible, but since this particular calendar is in high demand, I made sure to get this one out first.

Have a Healthier New Year with Flavonoids

Visit the New Flavonoids Page
Each New Year's Day, most of us resolve to get healthier. Adding flavonoids to your diet is a good, easy, and delicious way to get started. Flavonoids help prevent cancer and heart disease, may help neurological disfunction, and support the immune system while reducing inflammation. You can get your daily dose of flavonoids right from your produce section and your tea pot.

Do calcium supplements really help you lose weight?
Posted: 2006-12-18
I've read about it. I've seen the studies. Now I'm going to test it for myself. I'm going to start taking calcium supplements every day, and I'll be sure to let everyone know how it affects my weight loss efforts.
Will it reduce my appetite? Will it speed up my metabolism? Will it give me more energy?
We all need more calcium in our diets to help build strong bones, but losing weight from it may be a nice bonus.

Things to Do around Portland, Oregon / Vancouver, Washington
Posted: 2006-12-14
I've often heard that "there's nothing to do in Portland." If you can't find interesting things to do, you're either a boring person or simply don't know where to look.
The Portland, Oregon / Vancouver, Washington area has lots of jewels to discover, whether you're looking for a night downtown or a weekend in the wilderness. (And no, it doesn't "rain all the time.")
Here's a list of my favorite places to visit: http://www.kristensguide.com/Travel/Oregon/portland-metro.asp

Oops... Contact Forms Fixed
Posted: 2006-12-06
Some of my Contact Me pages were down for a few months, unknown to me. (And I just thought people weren't sending comments or asking for advice anymore. Silly me.)
I sincerely apologize to anyone who sent me a message and never received a reply. The problem has been fixed. Please resend your messages.

Kristen's Guide got a new RSS feed.
Posted: 2006-12-05
I've been debating for some time now: set up an RSS on my own server or use a service. I broke down and started using Blogger. We'll see how this works.
My goal is to have an easier way for people to find out what's new at Kristen's Guide without having to sign up for newsletters or groups.
