Fun Stuff for Kids
Updated February 06, 2008
Don't pay attention to the commercials, toy stores, catalogs, and materialistic friends. You really don't need to spend a lot of money or buy the fancy toys for kids to play with. Those items could actually be doing more harm than good by stunting your child's creativity, curiosity, and problem solving skills. There are just two things you need to keep in mind:
- If you're going to spend money on an expensive new toy, make sure you buy a quality product that will have multiple uses and will help your child learn something.
- Limit fad toys and anything that does the work of playing for your child. If you're child looks at a toy and says "What does it do?" then it's time to find more open-ended playthings.
