Writing to Discover Yourself
Content Written/Updated on July 02, 2007
Writing helps you figure out what you believe, what you want, and how you feel. When you write, you force yourself to think about your values, priorities, ethics, dreams, and goals.
Just asking the question, "What should I write about?" requires you to review your needs. Do you need to write about how you feel about something? Do you need to write a menu for an event? Do you feel compelled to write to debate about an issue that is important to you or tell a legislator what you want her to vote for? Perhaps you need to escape for awhile and lose yourself in poetry or fiction. Maybe you just need to record your daily activities, so you can tell your life story to your great-great-great grandchildren. Whatever you decide to write is a reflection of what you need to achieve happiness.
